Whenever 'transport' is mentioned amongst participants or providers, you can be sure there will be a few feisty opinions, some confusion, and quite a bit of misinformation.

  • What is Activity-Based Transport?

  • How much can my support worker charge for transport?

  • Can I use my funding to pay for a taxi to go to work?

  • Why do some providers charge time and costs to travel to me?

  • Why does the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits document have multiple rates?

In trying to find a way through this mess we decided to create a fact sheet to help participants and providers understand the basics and to know when certain types of claims were appropriate and whether a participant or a provider might be responsible for the costs.

Our Transport Fact Sheet is in two parts:

  1. a flow chart, or decision tree, to guide you to the right claiming mechanism

  2. answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs)

This fact sheet is made available under Creative Commons license as long as it remains unaltered and not for commercial purposes.

15 July 2023 - Updated Factsheet with new flow chart.
